American Idol tonight: Jason Mraz, time, TV channel, judges, results

American Idol is all new tonight, and the five remaining contestants will team up with singer Jason Mraz in an attempt to wow the judges. They’ll be singing songs chosen by the viewers, as the judging team of Harry Connick Jr, Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban weigh in on the results. Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Muese, Alex Preston and Sam Woolf are all still alive in the competition, but someone is about to head home.

Idol was thought to be left for dead after last year’s judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey feuded and sent ratings plummeting before both being dismissed from the show. But with Connick having been promoted from mentor to judge, and Lopez returning to resume her earlier judging stint, the show now appears to be back on track – even as ratings are still a far cry from the show’s more prominent heyday.

Tonight’s new episode of American Idol featuring Jason Mraz is a two hour episode airing from 8pm to 10pm eastern time on the Fox television network.
