Tucker Carlson claims the Middle East’s problems have all been caused by “Hippies”

The Middle East has long been fraught with corrupt dictators, perpetual war, terrorist hubs, and abhorrent personal rights violations. But it turns out all of the region’s various problems have not been caused by abuse of political or religious extremism. Instead, according to conservative site Daily Caller run by Fox News correspondent Tucker Carlson in his spare time, the Middle East is turmoil because of hippies.

Unrest in the region has been triggered, the bowtie-clad Carlson’s site claims, by increased food prices as a direct result of liberals and their insistence on protecting the environment. Daily Caller claims that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has ruined the Middle East by requiring ethanol be added to gasoline, which he claims has caused a food shortage in the region, meaning that the various revolts taking place in nations like Libya and Egypt haven’t been about civil right or political corruption, but instead about a lack of corn.

Even as widespread reports out of Beijing have the population unable to venture outside of their houses without a gas mask due to China’s lack of any environmental regulations, conservatives continue to claim that the United States should ditch its EPA in the name of allowing large businesses to pollute at whatever level brings them the largest profits. The article out of O’Reilly’s camp demonstrates how far conservatives are willing to go in the name of smearing environmental protection efforts not only in America, but worldwide. That strategy doesn’t appear to be working of late, however, as Fox News has seen its ratings plummet to a twelve year low.

Bob Dole pushed for ethanol so the farmers in Iowa could sell more corn I guess that makes him a hippie
