The Bob Weir & Ratdog concert tonight in Brooklyn has long sold out due to the mere 600 person capacity of the venue, but fans near and far can still tune in online for a free live stream of the concert. Tonight’s gig is celebrating the tenth anniversary of HeadCount, the nonpartisan political group which works with musicians to encourage vans to turn out and vote in the United States.
Bob Weir is best known as the co-founder of the legendary band the Grateful Dead. RatDog is another Bay Area jam band, which Weir started with bassist Rob Wasserman. The band is in the midst of a cross country tour which runs through September. And while tonight’s gig may have one of the smaller in-person audiences of the tour, the live stream will ensure that it has a digital audience nationwide and worldwide. Tonight’s show will feature several special guests including Eric Krasno of Soulive.
The live stream is also intermittently offering live video feed of the setup of the concert hall throughout the afternoon, though it’s not yet clear whether the early video feed will include soundcheck.
Tonight’s Bob Weir & Ratdog concert has a free live stream broadcast start time online of approximately 8:25pm eastern time at the Tour Gigs website.
