The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants face off tonight in their first NFL football game of the season, and the two NFC East division rivals do so under the lights of Sunday Night Football, with both teams harboring playoff aspirations. Dallas made a strong playoff push in the 2014 season and came within one controversial Dez Bryant catch ruling of making it to the NFC Championship game, marking their best run in a decade and breathing new life into the Jason Garrett – Tony Romo era for the Cowboys. New York has been struggling of late after winning two Super Bowls earlier in the Tom Coughlin – Eli Manning era, and is hoping to bounce back in 2015 based on the rise of receiver Odell Beckham Jr. However the Giants are still without the services of injured defenseman Jason Pierre Paul, who will not be playing tonight.
