One team knows who its quarterback is but still isn’t sure he’s the answer, while the other team still tries to figure out what it’s doing at the position. Kansas City is once again going with starting quarterback Alex Smith and head coach Andy Reid. Each has had success elsewhere and both were brought to KC to win now, and the patience of fans may be wearing thin if the Chiefs fail to contend again this season. Meanwhile Houston is starting Brian Hoyer at quarterback over Ryan Mallett, a pair of castoffs from other teams who are looking to prove they can be an NFL caliber QB – and the Texans may have some new fans around the nation thanks to their stint on HBO Hard Knocks this past offseason.
