The NASCAR Sprint Cup race schedule heads to Phoenix, Arizona today of the Quicken Loans 500 race which sees the top drivers on stock car racing’s senior circuit trying to get a leg up in the Chase for the Cup standings as the 2015 season comes near to a close. Today’s race has an afternoon start time and will air on an odd TV channel as well as being made available as a live stream online option.
The Chase for the Cup 2015 standings have eight drivers remaining in contention for the championship, with a cluster of four drivers atop the leaderboard. Jeff Gordon, who is retiring after this season, is in first place. Kyle Busch is in second place, two points back. Kevin Harvick, last season’s winner, is three points back in third place. Martin Truex Jr is six points behind in fourth place. Other drivers still in contention are Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch, and Joey Logano. Today’s race is 312 laps at Phoenix International Raceway.
