2015: iPod touch 6th generation vs iPhone 6S release date vs Apple Watch retail
Apple is gearing up for the launch of several new products, and consumers are rife with questions about when which will arrive. The iPhone 6S release date has become the subject of much speculation as 2015 moves on. The iPod touch 6th generation has been missing in action all year, but movement on that front could come soon. And the Apple Watch, which technically launched a month ago, is still awaiting its retail launch. Here’s a look at all of the above:
Apple Watch: Apple took preorders in April and shipped most of them in May, with its website now listing the various models as having ship times between two to eight weeks for online orders. That suggests the retail launch will happen within a month, right around the time that at least half of the Watch models will be available for in-store purchase from an inventory standpoint. The smarter move would have been to hold back the entire Apple Watch launch until later this year when inventory would be available on all fronts, but that ship has sailed. At this point Apple has to get the Watch into retail as soon as it can, before popular momentum for the product fades.
iPhone 6S release date: Apple’s traditional calendar points to a launch in September. It could be moved up to a sooner point on the calendar, but with iPhone 6 sales still going strong, there is little strategic reason to do so. The bigger question here is, once the iPhone 6S launches, how long will the “retread S” model remain on the market before the iPhone 7 makes its debut? But there’s no much mystery about the iPhone 6S release date coming in the fall – and it won’t be alone.
iPod touch 6th generation: The current iPod touch 5 is nearly three years old, obsolete, and begging to be replaced. For a variety of reasons, Apple opted not to launch the iPod touch 6 alongside the iPhone 6. At this point it’s probably too late, and the safe bet is that Apple will wait until the fall and launch the iPhone 6S and the iPod touch 6th generation alongside each other.

Apple is not saying anything one way or another about the iPod touch 6, everyone says they keep everything secret about releasing new stuff. They announced the iwatch though… 6 months before you could actually buy it so what’s up with that. I guess they like to be dramatic and build anticipation. But it is just making iPod Touch users angry right about now. They should at least say… IF…..there is gonna be a new iPod touch. I don’t think the watch is for everyone. Just like there is certain people who don’t want an iPod touch. Personally I got used to having my iPod touch for everything, and not having a large bill for a data plan……I can text with wifi all I want, most people prefer it anyway.
