The Florida Gators take on East Carolina today in the Birmingham Bowl, a college football game with odd timing and odd circumstances. The UF Gators season was such a failure that it got head coach Will Muschamp fired, yet the team’s six wins (four of them in the SEC) qualified it for a minor bowl bid. The East Carolina Pirates have the better record at 8-4 coming out of the American Conference. Today’s game has an early start time and airs on a national TV channel plus a live stream available online.
Florida’s quarterback situation is a mess, with Treon Harris and Jeff Driskel having taken turns starting this season and neither looking solid. Harris was recently in legal trouble for driving without a license, and whispers have Driskel transferring to another school this offseason. New head coach Jim McElwain will attempt to make heads or tails of the roster he inherits. His Gators are facing East Carolina QB Shane Carden, who racked up 4309 passing yards and 28 touchdowns this season, with wide receiver Justin Hardy his favorite target.
Todays Florida Gators vs East Carolina college football Birmingham Bowl game has a start time schedule of noon eastern and airs on TV channel ESPN as well as a live stream online.
