Apple Event odds today: iWatch 100%, iPhone 6S 40%, Apple TV 20%

The Apple Event today is centered around one product, but will feature others. The iWatch, which is now officially known as the Apple Watch, will be front and center. But will Apple pair it up with a new iPhone 6S in order to motivate customers to buy both in conjunction with each other? And how about that long overdue Apple TV update? Or actual Apple television sets? Here’s a look at the odds of what we’ll see today.

iWatch: 100%. The “Spring Forward” name of the event gives away that this is the watch launch, and it may also be the last time we get to unofficially refer to it as the iWatch, as Apple will likely cement the “Apple Watch” name today for good. No matter the name, the odds of it being launched today are one hundred percent. Now for the less certain stuff.

iPhone 6S: 40%. Apple has reason to want to get people to buy a new iPhone right now, even if they just became contract eligible and had been planning to wait for the 6S in the fall. The Watch requires an iPhone 5 or newer, and Apple must motivate those using a 4S or older to buy a new iPhone now so they can also buy the Watch.

Apple TV: 20%. Simply put, it’s overdue. The only reason for Apple to have waited this long to update the Apple TV is if it is indeed about to launch an Apple television set instead. But we think there’s a decent chance we’ll see the latest version of the set top box today.
