The Chicago Cubs face the New York Mets today in Game 1 of the NLCS baseball playoff series, with both teams having taken down formidable opponents in their respective first round matchups and now each one step away from the World Series. Today’s game has a late start time and will air on a cable TV channel as well as being made available as a live stream online option.

Chicago defeated Pittsburgh in a play-in game before going on to beat St Louis in a four game NLDS series to now advance to the National League Championship Series. The Cubs are sending starting pitcher Jon Lester to the mound today. New York beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in a five game first-round series to advance this far. Now the NY Mets are sending pitcher Matt Harvey into the starting lineup, and they have home field advantage today, as the best of seven series kicks off to determine which of these two squads will advance to the 2015 World Series.
