The CMA Awards tonight represent one of the highlights of the country music scene for 2014, and come with plenty of anticipation thanks to a pair of famous hosts and a number of competitive categories along with high profile performances. The event takes place in Nashville to the surprise of no one, and is scheduled to air live on a prominent television network with a primetime start time.
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are splitting the CMA 2014 Awards hosting duties tonight, with the two country music stars being billed as emcees for the evening. The list of live performers is a long one including Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves, The Band Perry, Keith Urban. The CMA Country Music Awards are not to be confused with the CMT Awards, a different country music awards show; the two are often juxtaposed in the minds of country music fans.
Tonight’s CMA Awards 2014 has a start time of 8:00pm eastern time airing live on TV channel ABC and is scheduled to last until 11:00pm, but as these broadcasts tend to run long, we’d advise you to set your DVR for at least an extra half hour to an hour just to be on the safe side.
