The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are so popular they’re difficult to find in stock to begin with, even two months after launch – meaning that price deals have been nonexistent. But that’s about to change thanks to the arrival of Thanksgiving and its modern corollary, Black Friday. Numerous deals abound, some of them involving price cuts and others featuring gift cards, giving consumers an opportunity to save a bundle on their iPhone 6 if they time it right. The deals come from Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and surprisingly, Apple itself.
Apple is offering a fifty dollar gift card on iPhone 6 purchases, a surprise considering that it’s been selling as many units as it can manufacture at full price. Target is offering a more modest thirty dollar gift card, while Best Buy is is offering a hundred dollar gift card in exchange for an older iPhone (for the record, the latter is a bad deal as you can sell any working iPhone 4S or newer on eBay for more than a hundred dollars). And then there’s Radio Shack, who doesn’t appear to be offering a deal on the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, but is instead giving away the comparatively poor selling Galaxy S5 for free with contract. However the most intriguing iPhone 6 deal comes from Walmart.
Walmart is selling the iPhone 6 at a twenty dollar discount, and then offering a seventy-five dollar gift card on top of it. That means you can get the $199 entry level iPhone 6 for less than half its price tag. But with supplies already limited since the launch, don’t expect to be able to find the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus in great quantity at any of the above retailers on a sales day as hectic as Black Friday.
