Those staying home tonight and looking for a good movie to watch on TV have their choice of a number of flicks with ties to titles that are currently at the box office, along with a smattering of modern classics. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is now playing in theaters starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. But ABC is airing the similarly titled and highly rated Spider-Man 2 tonight at 8pm. That’s the one with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. It’s actually now titled “Spider-Man 2.1” due to the inclusion of additional scenes which weren’t in the theatrical release. But that’s not the only prequel of sorts on TV tonight.

X-Men Days of Future Past is about to hit theaters, and it serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is airing tonight at 9pm. The catch: it’s on Telemundo, which means it’ll be overdubbed in Spanish. Those looking to stick to English-language options tonight will be treated to Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, airing at 6pm and 8:30pm on the Esquire TV channel.

Encore is airing Superman (the original 1978 classic, not the Man Of Steel remake) at 8:00, while HBO is offering the Paul Walker swan song Fast & Furious 6 at 8:00 as well. For those who love their sequels and trilogies, HBO Signature is offering The Hangover Part III at 9:00.
