The event comes even as one driver continues to pull away from the pack in the Chase for the Cup points standings, with the season quickly in danger of becoming a race for second place. Kevin Harvick continues to dominate the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup season with multiple wins and 437 total points, placing him atop the leaderboard. Martin Truex Jr is a distant second place, 46 points back. Jimmie Johnson is 48 points back in third place. Joey Logano and Dale Earnhardt Jr round out the top five in the standings. However it only takes one win to qualify for the Chase, meaning the entire field is still in it no matter the point spread heading into today’s race.
