The NFL Draft 2014 starts tonight with the first round airing in prime time on two different TV channels simultaneously, offering coverage from multiple angles. The Houston Texans have the first pick, and have yet to telegraph their intentions for who they’ll take number one overall. Depending on who they take and how the Rams respond with their number two pick accordingly, tonight’s draft could quickly become a free for all. But hopes run high for all thirty-two teams (for draft order click here) to boost their roster with new top tier players out of college, even as those players wait to find out which NFL team they’ll be reporting to work for. Once the NFL put games or the draft on cable television (ESPN, NFL Network) and left the little guy out who can’t afford cable, I stopped watching. I used to love watching Monday Night Football on ABC. Now I can’t because I don’t have cable. Screw the greedy bast*rds. I’m done with it all.
