New York Giants offseason: NY doubles down on Odell Beckham Jr

The NY Giants head into the 2015 NFL Draft looking to replicate the success of last year’s first round. The New York team led by veteran quarterback Eli Manning and old school head coach Tom Coughlin was met with a youth infusion when Odell Beckham Jr was taken the first round, a wide receiver with an otherworldly ability to make seemingly impossible catches, adding a dynamic element to the offense. But can the Giants strike gold again, and will it be enough to keep the Manning-Coughlin era intact?

Despite having won two Super Bowls together, neither stalwart’s future is assured with the team. Tom Coughlin would likely have been fired this offseason if not for his past track record with the NY Giants, and Eli Manning’s potential replacement has already been drafted. Both men must hope that not only will Beckham take his game to even greater heights this season, but that the team has another strong draft in order to provide enough firepower to compete with the rising Cowboys in the NFC East. But even then, it might not be enough.

It’s worth noting that some of Odell Beckham’s best catches came in games which the NY Giants ended up losing. That means New York needs more than just one new playmaker to come out of the 2015 Draft if it hopes to make any real noise this season.
