Oakland Raiders vs Green Bay Packers game tonight: time TV schedule

The Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers are in very different places as they come together to play an NFL preseason schedule football game tonight that’s being televised on a national TV channel. The Packers appear to be in midseason form already and are attempting to fine tune any remaining rough spots, while the Raiders are just hoping to find a way to avoid a three-ring quarterback carousel. Tonight’s game could go a long way toward determining who is under center for Oakland on opening day.

Green Bay looked sharp in its game against Saint Louis, with Aaron Rodgers doing a nearly flawless job of executing the first team offense for the Packers. The team is attempting to put together its first Super Bowl winning season since 2010. Oakland is in a different place entirely, having brought in Matt Schaub to be its new franchise quarterback after a disappointing year with Terrelle Pryor. One catch: Schaub has been generally outplayed this preseason by holdover Matt McGloin, and now the team faces a tricky issue. If McGloin is named the starter, the team could look foolish for having traded for Schaub. But if Schaub starts the season and plays poorly, the team looks even more foolish. Raiders execs must be hoping Schaub plays well tonight in order to put the controversy to bed, even as team owner Mark Davis creates a different kind of controversy by flirting with moving the team to San Antonio or Los Angeles.

Tonight’s Oakland Raiders vs Green Bay Packers NFL preseason football game has a scheduled start time of 8:00pm eastern time, and airs on television on TV channel CBS.
