SNL tonight: host Michael Keaton, Carly Rae Jepsen Saturday Night Live

SNL is all new tonight with an episode which brings back a familiar face as host. Michael Keaton, who is in the midst of a career renaissance, returns to handle hosting duties on Saturday Night Live. He can be expected to make light of his recent star turn in the hit movie Birdman, and possible parody his earlier tenure as Bruce Wayne and Batman. There should also be other surprises in store, particularly with “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen performing as musical guest.

Michael Keaton has previously been parodied on SNL, as a popular Celebrity Jeopardy sketch featured Matthew Perry portraying an over-animated Keaton as a hapless contestant. Carly Rae Jepsen is appearing on Saturday Night Live for the first time, but she may bring yet another familiar face with her. Tom Hanks, who has hosted SNL too many times to count, recently appeared in her latest music video – will he also appear on tonight’s episode?

Tonight’s new episode of Saturday Night Live has a scheduled start time of 11:30pm eastern time and airs on TV channel NBC. Michael Keaton’s monologue will take place just after the cold open and opening credits. Carly Rae Jepsen should perform her first song sometime around midnight.
