Tampa Bay Bucs vs Jacksonville Jaguars game: score, schedule

The Tampa Bay Bucs and Jacksonville Jaguars got their 2014 NFL campaigns underway tonight with a preseason game which saw the two Florida teams facing off in their traditional August annual exhibition outing. Both teams are in transition heading into this season, one with a new coach and the other with a new quarterback. Final score and upcoming schedule for both teams below.

Tampa saw the debut of new head coach Lovie Smith tonight, and along with him new quarterback Josh McCown, who did little in the game. Instead it was incumbent QB Mike Glennon who looked strong in extended action, nearing a passer rating of one hundred for the Buccaneers. Jacksonville put rookie quarterback Blake Bortles on the field for the first time, and he looked far better than journeyman Chad Henne. In the end, the final score was determined primarily by backup players on both sides.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won over the Tampa Bay Bucs by a final score of 16-10. The next game on the Jags schedule is Thursday night, August 14th, at the Chicago Bears, airing on TV channel ESPN. The next Bucs game on the schedule is at home against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night, August 16th.
