Game of Thrones season premiere tonight: TV, time, HBO Now live stream

Game of Thrones returns tonight for the season five premiere, with fans wondering who will live, who will die, and who will come to power next in the ongoing gritty power struggle centering around Tyrion Lannister and other memorable characters. But even as the show returns to the air and brings great anticipation with it, there are also fundamental changes going on in terms of how you can watch it as well as an official HBO live stream.

Don’t worry, we’re not going to ruin the fun by pelting you with any Game of Thrones spoilers regarding the premiere tonight. But HBO is now offering Game of Thrones and other shows like it as part of a service it calls HBO Now, a live stream app which allows viewers to effectively subscribe to HBO online without needing to be a cable or satellite subscriber, or to even own a television.

The catch: you’ll need an Apple device for now in order to subscribe to HBO Now, meaning those without one won’t be able to catch the live stream or on demand option online, and will have no choice but to tune tonight in via their television set. In any case, enjoy the Game of Thrones premiere.
