Navy takes on San Diego State tonight in a college football bowl game with an exceedingly long name. The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl takes place in Southern California, making the SD State Aztecs the de facto home team after a 7-5 record season in the Mountain West conference. The Navy Midshipmen have a long way to travel but will find plenty of local fans thanks to the proximity of the Naval Base. Tonight’s game has a late start time and airs on a prominent TV channel as well as a live stream available online.
Both teams enter the Poinsettia Bowl on winning streaks. Navy is 7-5 on the year but is coming off a key victory over rival Army by a 17-10 final score. Quarterback Keenan Reynolds leads the Midshipmen in both passing and rushing yards, making him the focal point of the offense. San Diego State is led by QB Quinn Kaehler with 2016 yards and running back Donnel Pumphrey with 1755 rushing yards, and is coming off a win over rival San Jose State.
