2015 New Years Eve TV specials tonight: Dick Clark, Anderson Cooper

It’s New Years Eve, and the most popular way for Americans to spend it is to stay home and watch the countdown on TV. There are a number of television specials tonight accordingly, from the traditional Dick Clark Rocking New Years Eve (which carries on even after his passing) to the more contemporary shows from the likes of Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin. Here’s a listing of what each of the major networks is offering tonight along with the start times and schedules.

ABC: Dick Clark’s Rocking New Years Eve is hosted by Ryan Seacrest of American Idol fame. On the east coast it begins at 8:00pm and runs through 11:00 before switching over to local news, then coming back to the special from 11:30pm through 1:00am.

CBS: There’s nothing to see here beyond reruns of TV dramas and a repeat of David Letterman, curiously enough.

NBC: Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb from the Today Show man the dial from 8:00 through 10:00, then Carson Daly takes command from 10:00 through 11:00 and again from 11:30 through 12:30.

FOX: Pitbull hosts the “New Years Eve Revolution: from 8pm through 10pm and then again from 11pm through 12:30am.

CNN: Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin make their usual New Years Eve oddball pairing on the cable news network from 9pm through 12:30am eastern time.
