Seattle Seahawks vs Chicago Bears game: final score, schedule, winner

The Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks had a late start time tonight for their NFL preseason schedule football game, and one of the two teams played as if it forgot to show up. Seattle entered the preseason looking to overcome some key personnel departures in the name of defending its Super Bowl title. Chicago has been looking to gel in its second season under head coach Marc Trestman as he attempts to revitalize the career of quarterback Jay Cutler, who just signed a major contract extension and will now seek to show that he’s earned it. In the end, tonight’s final score wasn’t even close.

Russell Wilson was in postseason form for Seattle tonight, going 15 of 20 with two touchdown scores, and the Seahawks had 118 yards rushing to along with it. But the scoring was all one sided. Jay Cutler took a step backward for Chicago, going 12 of 20 with one interception, and his backups Jimmy Clausen and Jordan Palmer looked equally mediocre for the Bears. On a night where nothing went right for Chicago, Seattle’s only concern was that its backup QBs Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor also fared fairly poorly.

The Seattle Seahawks were the winner of the Chicago Bears by a final score of 34-6, which would have been a shutout if not for a pair of field goals in the final six minutes. The next game on the Seahawks schedule is at the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night, while the next scheduled Bears game is at the Cleveland Browns, also on Thursday night.

Chicago Bears v Jacksonville Jaguars game: score winner schedule

The Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars faced off in a preseason schedule NFL football game tonight at Soldier Field in which both teams looked to continue the success they eachhad at the quarterback position in their first exhibition games last week. Each team found what they were looking for, to varying degrees, despite a lopsided start, the final score was close and the winner was determined in the final minute.

Jacksonville started strong under Chad Henne, and Blake Bortles also looked strong in relief, propelling the Jaguars to an early lead which appeared would hold up for the duration of the game. But Chicago’s backups led a quiet steady comeback culminating in a touchdown drive by the Bears with under a minute left. That left the Jags trying to drive for a winning field goal at the end of the game…

But in the end the Jaguars threw the game away with a poor interception, making the Bears one-point winners by a final score of 20-19. Jacksonville plays at the Detroit Lions next on the schedule on Friday night, while Chicago’s next game on the schedule is at the Seattle Seahawks on Friday night.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Chicago Bears game: score, schedule NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears faced off tonight in their first NFL preseason game of 2014, with both teams seeking the playoffs and bot featuring a second year head coach trying to take his starting quarterback to the next level after each parting with a high profile backup QB. Is this the year Jay Cutler finally looks like his old self? Can Nick Foles repeat his statistically spectacular efforts? Some of those questions were answered tonight. Final score and schedules below…

Tonight’s game was a high scoring affair in which eight quarterbacks played and three of them had passer ratings higher than one hundred. Oddly enough Nick Foles wasn’t one of them, throwing two interceptions for Philadelphia and having an off night overall. Mark Sanchez had an impressive debut for the Eagles, but isn’t in any danger of winning the starting job. Jay Cutler looked strong for Chicago, as did reserves Jimmy Clausen and Jordan Palmer, both of whom are hoping to win the backup job from the departed Josh McCown. In the end, the win went to the last team to score.

The Chicago Bears won tonight’s game over the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score of 34-28. The next game on the schedule for the Bears is Thursday night August 14th at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which will air nationally on ESPN. The next game on the Eagles schedule is Friday night August 15th at the New England Patriots, airing on the NFL Network.
