Arizona Cardinals vs San Diego Chargers game tonight: score, schedule

The Arizona Cardinals and the San Diego Chargers faced each other tonight in their final NFL preseason schedule football game, one of only two games to take place on the west coast this weekend. Philip Rivers is coming off a strong performance against the Niners, while Carson Palmer is coming off a bad game against the Bengals. But tonight’s game was all about the backups, and bad quarterbacking ruled the day on both sides. The final score features no touchdowns accordingly.

Logan Thomas took every snap for Arizona, and had a poor game going 9 for 21 with no touchdown scores and one interception for the Cardinals. But if San Diego was trying to figure out where to place Kellen Clemens and Brad Sorensen relative to each other on the depth chart, neither made much of an impression. In the end the game featured seven field goals and was mercifully saved from overtime by the winning field goal with two and a half minutes left.

The San Diego Chargers were the winner of tonight’s game over the Arizona Cardinals by a final score of 12-9, in a game both teams will be looking to forget. That may be difficult, however, as a quirk of the schedule has these same two teams opening the season against each other next Monday night, this time in Arizona.

San Francisco 49ers vs San Diego Chargers game today: score, schedule

The San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers faced off in an NFL preseason schedule football game for the pride of California, even if the game itself didn’t count for anything in the standings. The Niners were attempting to turn in their first legitimate exhibition performance of 2014, after two subpar games in which they barely showed up - and this time around fans barely showed up after a major earthquake earlier in the day. The final score was largely determined by the efforts of a backup quarterback.

Philip Rivers got San Diego off to a hot start, completing ninety percent of his passes and throwing for an early touchdown score. Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers went to the NFC Championship game last season and all the way to the Super Bowl the year before, but have inexplicably looked poor so far in the exhibition season, Colin Kaepernick in particular. That continued today as Kaep went 6 of 12 with no touchdown scores and fumbled the ball twice in an erratic performance. But it was new Niners backup QB Blaine Gabbert, considered a bust when he was in Jacksonville, who saved the day, going 7 for 11 with a touchdown score.

The San Francisco 49ers were the winner over the San Diego Chargers by a final score of 21-7. The next game on the Niners schedule is at the Houston Texans on Thursday night, while the next game on the schedule for the Chargers is at home against the Arizona Cardinals, later on Thursday night.

San Diego Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks game tonight TV time schedule

seattle-seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers face off tonight in their second game on the preseason NFL schedule, with one team looking to sharpen its upcoming defense of its Super Bowl title, and the other team trying to finally cross the threshold from being a winner into a contender. Tonight’s game has a late start time and, unusual for an exhibition game, airs on a national TV channel.

Seattle knows Russell Wilson will once again be its starting quarterback for the 2014 season, and is now trying to determine whether incumbent Tarvaris Jackson or newcomer Terrelle Pryor from the Raiders will win the number two job. Both looked mostly adequate for the Seahawks in game one against Denver, aside from Pryor’s interception. San Diego also knows its starting QB will be Philip Rivers, and is hoping he can finally lead the Chargers team to the promised land. After steamrolling the Cowboys in game one, the Chargers are facing a tougher opponent tonight.

Tonight’s Seattle Seahawks vs San Diego Chargers NFL preseason game has a start time schedule of 10:00pm eastern time, 7:00pm local Washington state time, and will air on TV channel NFL Network - that’s number 212 on DirecTV, 154 on Dish Network.

San Diego Chargers vs Dallas Cowboys game: score, schedule, winner

The San Diego Chargers and Dallas Cowboys went into their first NFL preseason game last night each looking for answers. The Chargers are looking to go deeper into the postseason and become a contender, while the Cowboys are merely attempting to find their way into the postseason after a series of mediocre seasons. Both teams saw positives at backup quarterback, but only one saw a positive result for the night. Final score and schedule for both teams is below.

Tony Romo sat out the same for Dallas, with newly acquired Brandon Weeden starting the game instead. He was highly effective in early action, going 13-17 with one touchdown an a passer rating of over a hundred for the Cowboys. But Weeden was shown up by Kellen Clemens of San Diego, who had a rare perfect 158.3 passer rating for the Chargers. In the end, however, San Diego outgained Dallas by 124 yards in total offense, and the gap was even greater in scoring.

The Chargers won the game over the Cowboys by a final score of 27-7. The next game on the schedule for San Diego is at the Seattle Seahawks on Friday August 15th. The next game on the Dallas schedule is at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night, August 16th, airing on the NFL Network on television.
